Experimenting with new works in Berlin with the phrase economy of material in mind.
Some ideas of incidental balance of materials. Surfaces and reflections interplaying creating skewed dimensions and picture planes. Having recently made work in formal plinth and glass case format, i find my self veering away from the solidity and permanence of the plinth or traditionally hung work, and gravitate towards a leaning gesture. I like the temporary, incidental feeling particularly with the kind of sheet material seen here – it seems to make sense to me, and also brings the physicality of the situation into play – ie the floor, and other minor architectural details.
